Timber art | Handcrafted Door Stop | Wharf Series #94
Timber art #94 from the Wharf series is a unique, handcrafted door stop that adds a statement piece to your home.
More than 100 years old, originally from the Eastbourne wharf in Wellington harbour, the timber is combined with vintage railway iron and crafted with careful upcycling.
Erosion around the original nail creates unique character and the natural beeswax polish brings out the gorgeous colour of the wood grain. So good it really needs to be touched!
This medium-sized door stop has a low centre of gravity - perfect for keeping open a door and a perfect addition to any home.

The timber is Australian Jarrah, a very dense and durable wood that is part of the Eucalyptus family.
Jarrah was imported and used along with other Australian hardwoods in late nineteenth century New Zealand for commercial and industrial construction.
The history of the timber has been retained by leaving any existing bolt holes and surface marks, while exposing and polishing the beautiful end grain.
Both the Jarrah and the old iron have been cleaned, sanded, and hand finished by applying a coating of natural beeswax.
Each Keep Me Post has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.
