A Piece of History for Your Home:

This isn't just a door stop; it's a piece of New Zealand history. Crafted from recycled wharf timber, imported over a century ago, each piece tells a story.

JB carefully cleans, sands, and polishes the wood, revealing its natural beauty and unique character. The original tar marks and eroded contours are preserved, adding to its rustic charm.

A contrasting authentic railway pandrol clip sits atop the polished wood, creating a striking visual.

It's a functional object and a work of art, tactile and full of history. You'll want to pick it up and stroke it!

  • Material: Jarrah & railway iron
  • Dimensions: H 39 cm, W 10 cm, D 20 cm
  • Weight: 7 kg

The timber is Australian Jarrah, a very dense and durable wood that is part of the Eucalyptus family.

Jarrah was imported and used along with other Australian hardwoods in late nineteenth century New Zealand for commercial and industrial construction.

The history of the timber has been retained by leaving any existing bolt holes and surface marks, while exposing and polishing the beautiful end grain.

Both the Jarrah and the old iron have been cleaned, sanded, and hand finished by applying a coating of natural beeswax.

Each Keep Me Post has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.
