These beautiful lampshades feature Tauhou (Silvereye), a fabric design by Wellington-based illustrator and artist Jade Ell. Against a soft, white background, tauhou dart and hover among native New Zealand botanicals — ferns, kōwhai-like blooms, and delicate foliage rendered in sage greens, dusty blues, warm terracotta, and blush — a design that is at once lively and serene.
Drawing inspiration from the native bush and birdlife surrounding her Eastbourne home, Jade's illustration captures the charm and energy of these tiny, sociable birds with extraordinary warmth and detail. When lit, the lampshades glow beautifully, bringing the design to life and casting a warm, inviting light into any room.
Each shade is handcrafted by Shades at Grays, bringing together Jade's locally designed artwork and quality lampshade making in pieces that are as much art as they are lighting.

Refer to the size charts in the photos to determine the perfect dimensions for your lampshades. All sizes are numbered for easy selection. Use the drop down menus to make your choice.
To order lampshades in this fabric:
In the 1st drop down menu select the style and shape — all dimensions are illustrated in the photos.
Ceiling lights are best chosen from the straight sided options and most of the tapered shades are only suitable for table or floor stands and are not available for ceiling pendants.
In the 2nd drop down menu select whether your lampshades are for a table lamp / floor stand, or to be hung from the ceiling.
In the 3rd drop down menu select the ring size of the shade frame — either bayonet or screw bulb fitting. Check your lamp base or ceiling fitting to confirm which you need.
If in doubt, select bayonet bulb fitting as this will come with a standard flexible adaptor which can be flipped out to fit a screw bulb. More information.

A LED bulb is recommended. Each lampshade has a fire retardant inner made from white styrene.

My products are carefully packed for delivery, using a majority of recycled packaging.
The delivery charge is calculated at check-out.
I offer a click and collect option from Plimmerton, Wellington or Greytown, Wairarapa.
