Table Lamp | Genuine Vintage Wood Plane #82
Step back in time with this table lamp, crafted from a genuine vintage wood plane that bears the marks and history of its journey during the past 100 years.
Restored with care and finished with natural beeswax, this lamp holds a rich history and character that will add a special touch to your space.
The gorgeous hues of beech wood shine through, etched with the marks of its previous owners who used it in an era before the introduction of 'faceless' power tools.
Made by Alex Mathieson & Son, a renowned woodworking tool company founded in the early 1800s, this lamp is a testament to their legacy of quality craftsmanship.
As you run your fingers over its surface, you can feel the connection to generations of skilled artisans and the journey of this lamp to New Zealand.
The soft glow of the Edison bulb reflects off the polished surface, creating a beautiful ambiance in your space. Perfect for your living room or bedside table.
This designer table lamp is a conversation starter, a piece of history, and a work of art all in one.
The dimensions of the lamp base are:
- length 56 cm, width 9 cm, height with bulb, 20cm.
- 3.2 kg
I have tried to retain a sense of the history of the tool by leaving surface marks while cleaning and polishing the beautiful beech wood.
Each plane comes with a written history.
The vintage E27 40W screw fit replica Edison bulb, which comes with your lamp, has a life of about 1500 hours and can be easily changed for any number of similar bulbs that are widely available in New Zealand.
Each lamp is independently tagged and tested to ensure electrical safety. It has a long lead and an in-line switch.
We recommend a maximum 40W bulb.
Each table lamp has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.
