This exceptional wooden table lamp is the perfect finishing touch to any home.

Crafted from wharf timber, over 100 years old, its original ironwork and replica edison light bulb are certain to leave a lasting impression.

The piece was sourced from the Eastbourne wharf in Wellington Harbour, its grain cleaned and polished with natural beeswax to enhance the unique eroded lines and deep chocolate colour.

The timber is Jarrah, imported and used with Australian hardwoods in late 19th century New Zealand to serve structural and industrial purposes.

  • The dimensions of the lamp base are: length 30 cm, width 20 cm, height (including bulb) 22 cm.
  • Weight: 6 kg

The history of the timber has been retained by incorporating construction elements, bolt holes and surface marks while still exposing and polishing the beautiful end grain.

Attempts are made to retain any ironwork (bolts and nails) that are connected to the specific piece of timber. 

Natural beeswax is used to polish the wood and any ironwork.

The vintage E27 40W screw fit Edison light bulb, which comes with your lamp, has a life of about 1500 hours and can be easily changed for any number of similar bulbs that are widely available in New Zealand.

Each lamp is tagged and tested. It has a long lead and an in-line switch.

We recommend a maximum 40W bulb.

Your unique Edison table lamp has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.

Delivery

We have a $7 flat fee for delivery in the Wellington area, and a (free) click and collect service from Plimmerton, Wellington and Greytown, Wairarapa.

Delivery charges outside of Wellington will be calculated at check-out.

Deliveries to Australia may be subject to custom regulations regarding the importation of timber and are the responsibility of the purchaser.
