Rustic Elegance | Wood Table Lamp - Railway sleeper #123
Embrace the spirit of New Zealand's industrial heritage with this one-of-a-kind wood lamp crafted from an old railway sleeper.
This stunning lamp is made from reclaimed jarrah. It has a rich red colour and deep vertical grooves from its daily duty on the railway. On the back there are beautiful contours dappled in shades of warm brown.
The Australian Jarrah, was imported and used along with other Australian hardwoods in late nineteenth century New Zealand for commercial and industrial construction. This piece is likely to be well over 100 years old.
Each lamp is hand-sanded and polished with natural beeswax, highlighting the wood's unique grain and creating a warm, inviting glow with the included replica Edison bulb.
Perfect for those who appreciate handcrafted pieces with a story, or anyone with a connection to New Zealand's heritage.
Each lamp is unique and cannot be found in retail chains. Perfect as gorgeous ambient lighting for your home or a special gift.
- The dimensions of the lamp base are: height (including bulb) 36 cm, width 9.5 cm, length 20 cm,
- Weight: 2.8 kg
Natural beeswax is used to polish the wood and any ironwork.
The vintage E27 40W screw fit Edison light bulb, which comes with your lamp, has a life of about 1500 hours and can be easily changed for any number of similar bulbs that are widely available in New Zealand.
Each lamp is tagged and tested. It has a long lead and an in-line switch.
We recommend a maximum 40W bulb.
Your unique Edison table lamp has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.
