Reclaimed Wood Table Lamp - Railway sleeper #124
This handcrafted table lamp is more than just a light; it's a connection to New Zealand's heritage.
Made from a salvaged railway sleeper the lamp embodies the spirit of our industrial past.
JB has carefully preserved the wood's character, meticulously hand-sanding the timber while retaining the history of its journey. This piece has deep horizontal grooves and an original spike that has also been cleaned and polished.
The timber is Australian Jarrah, imported and used along with other Australian hardwoods in late nineteenth century New Zealand for commercial and industrial construction. This piece is likely to be well over 100 years old.
Once cleaned and sanded, it is then lovingly polished with natural beeswax, showcasing the wood's unique beauty.
Topped with a warm Edison bulb, the lamp creates a soft and inviting ambiance. Perfect for those who appreciate handcrafted pieces with a connection to New Zealand's heritage.
Each lamp is unique and cannot be found in retail chains. Perfect as gorgeous ambient lighting for your home or a special gift.
- The dimensions of the lamp base are: height (including bulb) 22 cm, width 22 cm, length 36 cm,
- Weight: 6 kg
Natural beeswax is used to polish the wood and any ironwork.
The vintage E27 40W screw fit Edison light bulb, which comes with your lamp, has a life of about 1500 hours and can be easily changed for any number of similar bulbs that are widely available in New Zealand.
Each lamp is tagged and tested. It has a long lead and an in-line switch.
We recommend a maximum 40W bulb.
Your unique Edison table lamp has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.
