A small dose of splendor
Some fabrics are happy to blend in. Kaffe Fassett’s House Leeks Dark is not one of them. Oversized succulent rosettes unfurl across a dark ground, their layered leaves picked out in blue, purple and teal, with flashes of red and ochre. Made into a lampshade, it becomes a little piece of textile art for a room that welcomes personality.
This is a lovely choice for the collector’s corner: books, ceramics, a much-loved chair and a lamp with something to say. Pair it with a glazed ceramic base for a richly textured look, or a simple black stand to let the pattern do the talking. In a larger ceiling shade, the sweeping rosettes become a statement overhead.
You don’t need a room full of colour to enjoy it. One accent drawn from the fabric, a blue vase or a deep green cushion, is enough to make the shade feel at home.
Made to suit your lamp
Each shade is handcrafted in New Zealand by Shades at Grays. Choose from 21 sizes, including straight-sided drums and barrels and a range of tapered silhouettes. The charts in the photos show the dimensions, so you can judge the proportions against your base or the space above your table.

Three choices to place your order
- Style and size: select your preferred shape in the first dropdown, using the photo charts for measurements. Straight-sided shades are a good starting point for pendants; most tapered styles are intended for table or floor lamps.
- Position: choose table lamp/floor stand or ceiling/pendant in the second dropdown, selecting a style suitable for that use.
- Fitting: choose bayonet or screw to match your bulb holder. The bayonet option includes a removable flexible adaptor for a larger screw bulb holder.

Delivery and collection
Your lampshade is carefully packed using a majority of recycled packaging. Wellington-area delivery is a flat fee of $9.50; delivery to other regions is calculated at checkout.
