No quiet neutral

Its colourway is called Beige, but this is no quiet neutral. Embroidered Shawl fills a lampshade with generous peach, orange and cream blooms, flashes of red, and sage-green leaves, all against a warm mustard-toned background.

Designed by Philip Jacobs for the Kaffe Fassett Collective, this expressive floral print has a softness that sits beautifully with linen, timber and treasured pieces. A slender metal base gives it an elegant outline; a larger pendant lets more of the flowing pattern unfold.

Each lampshade is handcrafted in New Zealand by Shades at Grays, with 21 sizes across straight-sided and tapered styles. The fabric features a printed design, rather than stitched embroidery.

The large floral motifs will appear differently depending on your chosen shade’s dimensions. Use the product photographs and size charts to help you decide how much of the pattern you would like to show.

Choose your shade in three steps

  1. Style and size. Select your preferred shape in the first dropdown and refer to the dimension charts in the photos. Straight-sided shades are a good starting point for ceiling pendants; most tapered styles are intended for table or floor lamps.
  2. How you will use it. Choose table lamp/floor stand or ceiling/pendant in the second dropdown, selecting a style suitable for that use.
  3. Bulb-holder fitting. Choose bayonet or screw to match your lamp base or ceiling fitting. The bayonet option includes a flexible adaptor that can be removed to fit a larger screw bulb holder.
