This wooden table lamp crafted from a vintage carpenter's wood plane is a unique addition to any home decor.

Restored with love and care, each lamp has its own story to tell.

This table lamp has been created from an old carpenter's plane made by Aaron Hildick, an English company established in Sheffied in 1846. The company produced quality woodworking tools for well over 100 years.

The Hildick brand is incorporated in to the steel and is still clearly visible on the cutting blade. The beech wood block was created by another Sheffield tool manufacturer, William Marples & Son and that brand is also visible.

The 'rhino horn' handle on this example is typical of a German or continental style of carpentry plane.

Featuring an Edison bulb, these lamps emit a warm and inviting glow.

Each plane comes with a written history.

The plane has been cleaned, lightly sanded to remove years of grime, and hand finished with natural beeswax.

The vintage E27 40W screw fit Edison bulb, which comes with your lamp, has a life of about 1500 hours and can be easily changed for any number of similar bulbs that are widely available in New Zealand.

Each lamp is tagged and tested. It has a long lead and an in-line switch.

We recommend a maximum 40W bulb.

Your Edison lamp has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.

Delivery

We have a $7 flat fee for delivery in the Wellington area, and a (free) click and collect service from Plimmerton, Wellington.

Delivery charges outside of Wellington will be calculated at check-out.

Deliveries to Australia may be subject to custom regulations regarding the importation of timber and are the responsibility of the purchaser.
