Delicate cornflowers, warm earthy colour

Bring a little floral charm to your home with a handmade lampshade in this beautifully detailed cornflower fabric. Small red, burgundy and dark blue flowers weave through fine trailing stems on a warm brown background, creating a gentle vintage feel without overwhelming your room.

Picture a tapered shade beside your favourite reading chair, a bedside lamp against soft linen bedding, or a barrel pendant above a timber dining table. The earthy palette pairs beautifully with natural textures, timber furniture and gold-toned lamp bases.

Handmade for your home

Each lampshade is handcrafted by Sue in her Wellington workshop. Choose from 21 sizes across our straight-sided and tapered styles to find the proportions that suit your space. 

  • Small-scale cornflower and trailing-vine pattern in red, burgundy and dark blue on brown.
  • A choice of sizes and shapes for table lamps, floor lamps and suitable ceiling pendants.
  • Bayonet or screw bulb-holder fitting options.
  • White, fire-retardant styrene inner.
  • An LED bulb is recommended.

How to order

  1. Choose your style and size. Use the first dropdown and refer to the dimension charts in the photos. Straight-sided styles are a good choice for ceiling pendants; most tapered styles are intended for table or floor lamps.
  2. Choose how you will use your shade. Select table lamp/floor stand or ceiling/pendant in the second dropdown, choosing a style suitable for that use.
  3. Choose your bulb-holder fitting. Select bayonet or screw fitting in the third dropdown to match your lamp base or ceiling fitting. The bayonet option comes with a flexible adaptor that can be removed to fit a larger screw bulb holder.

Want something a little different?

Straight-sided shades can be made taller, and gold lining is available by enquiry. For advice or a quote, email shadesatgrays@gmail.com or call/text 027 541 4696. Sue can also quote for shades made with your own fabric or recovering a favourite existing shade.

Delivery and collection

Your lampshade is carefully packed using a majority of recycled packaging. Wellington-area delivery is $9.50; delivery to other regions is calculated at checkout. Click and collect is available from Plimmerton, Wellington, or Greytown, Wairarapa.
