Black Twist Table Lamp Base
A classic twist with a contemporary edge
A little texture can make a simple corner feel special. This black table lamp base combines a sculptural twisted stem with a neat round foot, bringing character to a bedside table, console or your favourite reading nook without a bulky silhouette.
The textured black finish gives it a wood-effect look, but the base is made from aluminium. Pair it with a quiet neutral shade for an understated finish, or let a handmade patterned lampshade add warmth and personality.
$120 NZD for the base only. Lampshade and bulb are not included. The shaded photographs show styling examples.
Make it your own with a handmade shade
One photograph shows this base with a Shades at Grays tapered shade measuring 28 cm across the bottom, 23 cm across the top and 23 cm high. Its gentle taper and warm patterned fabric complement the twisted stem beautifully. This is just one of many shade choices, not the only size or style that will suit the base.
From our handmade range, consider a straight-sided 25 or 28 cm shade for a clean-lined look, or a 30 cm straight-sided shade if you would like a little more presence. These are styling suggestions rather than the shade shown. A tapered silhouette feels softer and more traditional; straight sides give the lamp a more contemporary feel.
Soft neutrals let the stem's shape stand out. Botanical or floral fabrics bring a relaxed, layered look, while a graphic pattern can pick up the movement of the twist. The small neutral tapered shade in the other photograph illustrates a more compact look; it is not included.
When ordering a handmade shade, choose the table lamp/floor stand option and check the bulb-holder fitting to select the matching shade ring. For help with fabric, proportions or fitting, email shadesatgrays@gmail.com or call/text 027 541 4696.
