Rustic Table Lamp | Handcrafted | Wharf series #130
A Piece of New Zealand's History, Illuminated
Discover a piece of New Zealand's maritime history with our handcrafted wharf timber lamp. Crafted from reclaimed Jarrah wood, salvaged from Wellington's Eastbourne wharf, this lamp is a testament to the enduring beauty and durability of this iconic material.
The wood itself is over 100 years old, imported from Australia in the 19th century for use in various construction projects. Each lamp is meticulously handcrafted, preserving the wood's natural character and history. The smooth grain, polished with natural beeswax, invites touch, while the original nail adds a touch of rugged charm.
Paired with a replica Edison bulb, this lamp provides warm ambient light and a unique conversation piece for any home.
- The dimensions of the lamp base are: height (including bulb) 20 cm; width 10 cm, length 28 cm.
- Weight: 2.4 kg
The history of the timber has been retained by keeping the eroded grooves and original iron nail.
Each lamp comes with its own written history.
The vintage E27 40W screw fit Edison light bulb, which comes with your lamp, has a life of about 1500 hours and can be easily changed for any number of similar bulbs that are widely available in New Zealand.
Each lamp is independently tagged and tested. It has a long lead and an in-line switch.
We recommend a maximum 40W bulb.
Your unique Edison table lamp has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.
