Edison Table Lamp - Wood plane series #53
Our wooden table lamps are the perfect way to infuse your home with personality and charm.
Crafted from a vintgage carpenter's wood plane, this lamp tells a unique story.
The addition of an Edison bulb creates a cozy atmosphere that's perfect for any space.
This table lamp has been created from an old carpenter's plane made by the German manufacturer Heinrich Böker whose family's factory dates back to the 17th Century.
The Böker brand, featuring a crossed arrow can still be clearly seen on the cutting blade and is just visible stamped on the toe of the block.
The 'rhino horn' handle is typical of a German or continental style of plane. Sometimes called a Bismarck plane and named after Prince Otto von Bismarck, the first leader of a united Germany from 1862 to 1890.
- The dimensions of the lamp base are: length 26 cm, width 7 cm, height with bulb, 20cm.
- 1 kg
Each plane comes with a written history.
The plane has been cleaned, lightly sanded to remove years of grime, and hand finished with natural beeswax.
The vintage E27 40W screw fit Edison bulb, which comes with your lamp, has a life of about 1500 hours and can be easily changed for any number of similar bulbs that are widely available in New Zealand.
Each lamp is tagged and tested. It has a long lead and an in-line switch.
We recommend a maximum 40W bulb.
Your Edison lamp has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.
