Edison Lamp - Telegraph Post #12
Our Edison lamps combine recycled timber with edgy industrial materials, which reflect New Zealand’s commercial and agricultural history.
They provide statement lighting to enhance your room and stimulate discussion.
This unique and distinctive lamp has been created using an old reclaimed telegraph pole.
The timber is Australian Jarrah, a very dense and durable wood that is part of the Eucalyptus family. Jarrah was imported from the late 19th century for commercial and industrial constructions and was widely used for telegraph poles.
This piece is likely to be well over 100 years old.
- The dimensions of the lamp base are: width 15 cm, length 15 cm, height (with bulb) 35 cm.
- Weight: 3.5 kg
The history of the timber has been retained by leaving any surface marks and metal work, while exposing and polishing the beautiful grain.
The vintage E27 40W screw fit Edison bulb, which comes with your lamp, has a life of about 1500 hours and can be easily changed for any number of similar bulbs that are freely available in New Zealand.
Each lamp is independently tagged and tested to ensure electrical safety. We recommend a maximum 40W bulb.
Your Edison lamp has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.
Each lamp has a long lead with an in-line switch.
