Designer Table Lamp - Wood plane series #91
Bring a touch of history into your home with this wooden table lamp made from a restored carpenter's wood plane and likely to be over 100 year's old.
It is the perfect combination of heritage, charm and art, with a replica Edison bulb providing a warm and cozy atmosphere.
This table lamp has been created from an old carpenter's plane made by John Moseley and Sons, who were pre-eminent London plane makers in the 19th Century. Their address is still clearly visible on the toe end of this plane!
It features a cutting blade produced by James Howarth, a Sheffield steel toolmaker.
It is an example of a 'coffin' plane
- The dimensions of the lamp base are: length 20 cm, width 8 cm, height with bulb, 20cm.
- 1.2 kg
Each plane comes with a written history.
The plane has been cleaned, lightly sanded to remove years of grime, and hand finished with natural beeswax.
The vintage E27 40W screw fit Edison bulb, which comes with your lamp, has a life of about 1500 hours and can be easily changed for any number of similar bulbs that are widely available in New Zealand.
Each lamp is tagged and tested. It has a long lead and an in-line switch.
We recommend a maximum 40W bulb.
Your Edison lamp has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.
