The Heritage Lamp

This lamp isn’t just a piece of decor; it’s a slice of New Zealand history.

Handcrafted from a reclaimed tōtara fence post, this lamp celebrates the enduring spirit of rural Aotearoa. Once a guardian of a farm boundary, this venerable wood has been lovingly transformed by JB from Shades at Grays.

The history of the timber has been retained by leaving two original staple marks and any surface marks. The rich grain, exposed through careful sanding and polishing, tells a rich story of time and of the land.

Paired with a warm, replica Edison bulb, this lamp provides a soft, inviting glow that honors its rustic origins.

Dimensions:

  • Height, with bulb 34 cm; width 14 cm; length 13 cm.
  • Weight: 1.5 kg

The vintage E27 40W screw fit Edison bulb has a lamp life of about 1500 hours and can be easily changed for any number of similar bulbs that are widely available in New Zealand.

Each lamp is independently tagged and tested. We recommend a maximum 40W bulb.

Your Edison lamp has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.

With black fittings, this lamp has a long lead with an in-line switch.
