A Piece of New Zealand History | Wood Table Lamp #67
Own a Piece of Aotearoa's Past: Table Lamp Crafted from Reclaimed Tōtara
This captivating table lamp isn't just illumination, it's a conversation starter.
Handcrafted from a salvaged tōtara fence post, with retained axe marks, it whispers tales of New Zealand's rich history.
Tōtara, one of the country's oldest and most revered trees, served as a cornerstone for Māori and European settlers alike. Its enduring strength made it the ideal material for carving, housing, and of course, fencing.
This particular section likely stood sentinel over rural landscapes for well over a century, silently observing the evolution of New Zealand's agricultural ingenuity.
Dimensions:
- Height, with bulb 36 cm; width 20 cm; length 20 cm.

The history of the timber has been retained by leaving any surface marks, while exposing and polishing the beautiful grain.
The vintage E27 40W screw fit Edison bulb has a lamp life of about 1500 hours and can be easily changed for any number of similar bulbs that are generally freely available in New Zealand.
Each lamp is independently tagged and tested. We recommend a maximum 40W bulb.
Your Edison lamp has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.
With black fittings, this lamp has a long lead and an in-line switch.
