Restored from an ancient tōtara fence post, the lamp preserves and elevates the natural character of the wood, including the original fencing wire.

Tōtara is one of the biggest and oldest trees in the New Zealand forest and was used extensively by Māori and later by European setllers. Its straight grain and durability saw it used for carving, house piles, telegraph poles and fence posts.

The addition of a vintage-inspired edison bulb provides a warm and inviting glow, making it a perfect lamp for any room in your home.

It also makes a meaningful gift for those who appreciate the beauty and sustainability of natural timber.

The history of the timber has been retained by leaving any surface marks, while exposing and polishing the beautiful grain.

The vintage E27 40W screw fit Edison bulb has a lamp life of about 1500 hours and can be easily changed for any number of similar bulbs that are generally freely available in New Zealand.

Each lamp is independently tagged and tested. We recommend a maximum 40W bulb.

Your Edison lamp has a felt pad on the base to protect any surface you choose to put it on.

With black fittings, this lamp has a long lead with an in-line switch.

Delivery

We have a $7 flat fee for delivery in the Wellington area, and a (free) click and collect service from Plimmerton, Wellington.

Delivery charges outside of Wellington will be calculated at check-out.

Deliveries to Australia may be subject to custom regulations regarding the importation of timber and are the responsibility of the purchaser.
